1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Uplauz collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you access or use the Platform. The Policy complements the Terms and is governed by Indian law including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Artist-specific data: bank account details, PAN, GSTIN, setlists, performance metadata, uploaded media.

Technical and usage data: device model, IP address, browser type, app analytics, cookies and interaction logs.

Media: photos, audio, video uploaded by Users or recorded at Uplauz-enabled events.
3. Purpose of Processing
Uplauz processes personal data for: account creation and verification, payments and payouts, tax and regulatory compliance, fraud detection, marketing (with consent), improvement of Platform features, analytics and lawful business purposes.
4. Legal Basis and Consent
Processing is based on consent, contractual necessity, legitimate interest and legal obligation as applicable under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Where consent is relied on Users may withdraw consent. Such withdrawal may limit certain Platform features.
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Uplauz may share personal data with:
- Payment processors and banks for settlement and KYC.
- Venues and event organisers for verification and fulfilment.
- Analytics and cloud infrastructure providers in anonymised or pseudonymised form.
- Law enforcement, regulators or courts when legally required.
Uplauz does not sell personal data to third parties.
6. Cross-Border Transfers
Where personal data is processed or stored outside India Uplauz will ensure adequate protections in line with applicable law and DPDP rules regarding cross-border transfers.
7. Data Retention
Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes stated or to satisfy legal obligations. Retention periods may vary by data category. Residual records may remain in backup systems for lawful reasons.
8. Security Measures
Uplauz uses technical and organisational measures such as encryption, access controls, audits and industry standard security practices to protect personal data. Payment data handling follows industry standards where applicable. Uplauz stores data on secure servers and trusted cloud providers. No system is completely secure; Users accept residual risk.
9. Your Rights
Under applicable law including the DPDP Act Users have rights to:
- Access copies of their data
- Rectify incorrect or incomplete data
- Erase or restrict processing subject to lawful exceptions
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications
- Lodge complaints with Uplauz and with the Data Protection Board or other authorities as provided under law.

Uplauz does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 without parental consent. If we learn that such data has been collected without consent we will take steps to delete it.

Uplauz may update this Privacy Policy. The latest version will be posted on the Platform with an updated effective date.
